From
Paris: There is
an overnight train direct from Paris that arrives in Les
Cabannes at 0630 in the morning. This connects well with
the Eurostar service to Paris leaving Waterloo at about
1830 the night before.
From Barcelona:
If coming from / to Barcelona the border town is called La-tour-de-Carol,
you will need to change trains here. Get a train from La
Tour de Carol dir Toulouse. Not all the trains stop
at Les Cabannes, so check timetables carefully.
From Toulouse Airport
or Toulouse train station:
There is a Navette (shuttle bus) that leaves from just
outside the arrival hall of the Airport to the railway
station in Toulouse. The bus departs every 20 mins and
takes 20 mins. You pay for your ticket in the booth
opposite the bus stop (5 Euros). The railway station
(Toulouse Matabiau) is the final stop.
There are then trains
every hour (except at lunch times) from Toulouse (dir
Latour de Carol) although not all stop at Les Cabannes so
check timetables carefully. The journey takes about
an hour and a half. On Sundays some of the services are
replaced in part by buses. The final train of the day
leaves Toulouse at about 2015. The entire journey costs
about 20 Euros.
On arrival in Les
Cabannes, if you have not arranged a pick up, you need to
head out of the station and up to the main square, where
you turn left and walk down the main street. After
passing 2 restaurants on your left, look out for a right
hand turn signposted Pech.
Follow the Pech road
uphill, round the hairpin, then straight on (bears Left)
at the next junction. Follow the road round, and
taking the first L up a sharp hill which will lead you
into Quartier Serene. Turn L in the Quartier
and follow the road around. Cherry Cottage
is second in the row of houses on your right.
