Cherry Cottage is a charming 18th Century stone cottage nestled in a quiet hamlet in Ariege, in the French Pyrenees. The mountains form a stunning backdrop to the village of Pech, where Cherry Cottage forms one of the 30 or so houses. Sleeping 4 people comfortably, Cherry Cottage provides a haven from the hustle and bustle of life, being in the aptly named 'Quartier Serene' in Pech. However, it is only a 10 minute walk down the hill to the larger village of Les Cabannes, where there are numerous amenities available for you to access (pharmacy, pub, 2 food stores, swimming pool, 2 restaurants, boulangerie etc).
Family friendly: The cottage is ideally situated to allow you and your family/friends to enjoy a fantastic holiday regardless of your interests. Click on the link for further details regarding suitability of the accommodation for children. In winter (December to April) we have a good coverage of snow in the mountains, ideal for a downhill or cross country skiing break (both approx 30 mins drive away). In the summer, you are already ideally situated to enjoy numerous walking, cycling or sightseeing opportunities from your base, often straight from the front door. Les Cabannes also has an open air swimming pool and crazy golf range, both popular during the summer. The cottage is owned by English speaking Cathy and James Thompson, who live across the way. They have lived in France for about 3 years, and chosen the area for its beauty and outdoor activity opportunities. They run an activity holiday company called Marmot Tours in the area. They are available to give advice and information on local facilities and what to see/do in the area. |
